The Power of Positive Thinking
The interconnection between mind and body is an ancient concept that has been well documented. The association between mind and fertility therefore of relevance. Conception is often a very difficult process, especially now as couples or singles choose to start a family later in life. As a result, the struggle to conceive can bring out a range of emotions including negative thoughts. Research shows that cognitive therapy or restructuring negative thought patterns may boost fertility. Whilst trying to conceive (TTC), negative emotions that may be experienced are: anger; guilt; self blame; sadness; depression. Whilst they can be normal, when these emotions become overwhelming they may actually make trying to conceive even harder.
